How to Deal with Financial Anxiety – You are Not Your Net Worth

Money may be a topic that makes you anxious, and that’s okay. A lot of people feel the same way about their personal finances. I’m writing this article to ease any financial anxieties you may have, because it’s a very real thing and not enough people talk about it.

I want to start by emphasizing that you are NOT your net worth. So stop thinking you are.

For whatever reason, there’s this unspoken belief that people who have a lot of money are somehow more valuable and more important than those without as much money. And that could not be farther from the truth.

People are people. Your worth as a human is just as valuable as the richest people in the world.

When you realize that your value as a person is not attached to your net worth, most of your financial anxieties will disappear. And let me tell you, it’s a wonderful feeling.

Once you conquer your financial anxieties, you stop focusing on how much money you THINK you need, and you start feeling grateful for what you have. There’s no pressure to make lots of money and “look” successful.

Because in my opinion, success is determined by how kind and giving you are to others, how grateful you are, and how much you love what you do every day (not necessarily talking about a job, just about the things you do – do you love your life?).

THAT is my definition of success. Notice how net worth or amount of income is not included in that definition.

This means that anyone can be successful. If your finances make you feel unsuccessful or anxious, then PLEASE take time after reading this article to think about the powerful key points here:

  1. You are worth SO much – regardless of your financial position

  2. Success isn’t about money

  3. Success is determined by your kindness, gratitude, and love for your life

CALL TO ACTION
